Remembering The Stoneman Victims: Carmen Schentrup

Sixteen-year-old Carmen Schentrup was a National Merit Scholar semifinalist before Wednesday’s school shooting in Parkland cut her life short.

She was one of 10 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas to qualify as semifinalist for 2018, the second year in a row 10 students have qualified

From Facebook posts, friends recognized Schentrup was missing after Wednesday’s shooting. A friend, Sarah Imam, posted her photo and a plea asking for information from anyone who might know where she was. “She was a victim of the shooting and has not been found,” she wrote.

On Thursday, she was confirmed by authorities as one of the students who died following the school shooting.
