Family Wants To See Action After Teen Was Attacked In Weston

The mother of a teen is demanding an arrest after her daughter was allegedly attacked by another teen girl at the Weston Town Center.

A video of the fight on the night of Feb. 2. Apparently, the fight was over rumors surrounding a boy.

In the footage, a 13-year-old girl can be seen blocking her face as a 14-year-old girl slaps, punches and kicks her. The 13-year-old’s mother said her daughter was attacked by someone she didn’t even know.

The girl said she was attacked over nothing. “I had no idea who she was,” said the 13-year-old.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office incident report, the victim was struck multiple times. She has injured to the back of her head from being slammed on the concrete, has a bump on her temple from being kicked, and has swelling on her nose and bottom lip, as well as neck pain.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment, BSO said. She was treated for painful bumps to her head and bruises to her body.

BSO investigated this case and determined that the aggressor should be charged with misdemeanor battery. However, the teen was given a juvenile civil citation.

The civil citation carries several days of community service, but it does not appear criminal charges will be filed in this case.

The 13-year-old victim has yet to return to school in fear for her safety.
