The man shot and killed by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent Monday has been identified.

Monday evening, officials identified 29-year-old Robert Young, who broke into a Pinecrest home.

Miami-Dade Police responded to a call of shots fired at the home near Southwest 72nd Avenue and 92nd Street, just before 2 a.m., Monday.

According to officials, Young broke into the home of a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent through a screen door. Once the agent heard the glass shatter, police said, she got out of bed and opened fire.
