The Orlando Police department says it finally has a rapist in custody after weeks of searching.
Detectives say 30-year-old Stephen Sanders met his victim on a dating website earlier this year.
According to an arrest warrant, a woman said she agreed to meet Sanders in person on Jan. 8 after communicating via texts and phone calls.
She said while in Sanders’ vehicle, he told her she had an attitude and punched her numerous times, according to the arrest warrant. The woman allegedly tried to get out of the vehicle, but Sanders followed her and said, “Better not try me. I don’t play them games.”
Sanders forced the woman to get back into the vehicle, which he drove to an unknown residence, the warrant said. The woman said Sanders raped her multiple times and for hours before letting her go.
When the woman returned home, she told her roommate what happened and went to the hospital.
Sanders was arrested Tuesday on charges of battery, kidnapping and tampering with a witness.
He remains in jail.
