Former Pope Benedict says his life is ending.
The 90-year-old Benedict says in a letter published Wednesday that he's on a pilgrimage towards home. He mentioned that he is becoming increasingly frail but is at peace with the prospect of death.
The ex-pope thanked readers who expressed good wishes as he approaches the fifth anniversary of his resignation due to poor health.
He is the first pope in six centuries to resign.
