Hummus Lovers, You Won't Be Happy About This

Hummus luvvah?

We have to admit, the stuff is delicious and pretty nutritious, but unfortunately there's a chickpea shortage that has caused the price of hummus to climb by nearly 30 percent.

British magazine The Grocer found the average price of hummus climbed from the equivalent of $1.60 in January 2017 to $2.07 in January 2018.

Some hummus manufacturers blamed supermarkets for the price rise, but there's no denying there's also a shortage of chickpeas to contend with, and with demand being far higher than available supply, the result is lack of hummus.
