Survey Says Your Pup Is Quite Expensive!

If you had to take a guess, how much do you think you spend on your furry friend each year?

Well, having a pet is a lot of fun, but new research suggests that keeping them happy and healthy is expensive.

VIP Petcare surveyed 2,000 cat and dog owners and found they spend an average of $2,260 per year to keep their pet in good shape. That means if your pet lives for 10 years you'll spend well over $20,000 in all.

Still, people truly love their animals, with 84 percent saying they see themselves as "pet parents," and 68 percent of millennials respondents saying they've raised a pet in preparation for raising a child.
