Image Consultant To FSU Sorority: Lose The Trash & Up The Class

"Lose the trash and up the class."

That's the message an image consultant had for female students at Florida State University.

Susan Bigsby, herself an FSU alum, told some 200 sorority members of FSU's Kappa Delta on Monday night that they should avoid posting social media images of themselves dressed provocatively or drinking.

Bigsby was originally invited to speak in September to the women.

That was two months before FSU President John Thrasher indefinitely suspended Greek-life activities, following the Nov. 3 death of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity pledge Andrew Coffey as a result of alcohol abuse.

Last week, nine senior members of the fraternity  were charged with felony hazing in connection to Coffey's death.

Bigsby chose not to dwell on Thrasher’s edict. But she didn't mince words as she told the women of Kappa Delta that they shouldn’t be promoting images of barely-there clothing at football games and posting social media images of their lips wrapped around the neck of a beer bottle.

Bigsby urged the young women to "raise the bar" and said their "personal brand begins right now."
