Ft. Lauderdale To Use $200 Million Towards Sewage Spills

Relief could be on the way for homeowners affected by raw sewage spills.

The city of Fort Lauderdale has decided to borrow $200 million to help fix its water-sewer system.

In the last three years, more than 20-million gallons of raw sewage have leaked into local waterways and private properties.

The $200-million is just a start, though, as fixing the entire system is expected to cost more than one-billion dollars over the course of the next 20 years.
