Miami Man Sentenced After Threatening South Florida Islamic Center

There was potential of him serving up to 20 years in federal prison. Instead, the man who left a threatening voice mail for the Islamic Center of Greater Miami will only serve one year and a day behind bars.

A Miami federal judge also sentenced 35-year-old Gerald Wallace to three years supervised release.

Along with lots of profanities against Islam, Mohammad and the Koran, Wallace said he was "gonna shoot" worshipers.

During the plea hearing, Wallace admitted that on the evening of Feb. 19, he left the hate-filled, profanity-laden voicemail message for the Islamic Center of Greater Miami that threatened to shoot members of the Miami Gardens mosque.
