Health officials say a second child died while battling the flu this season in Florida.

Officials said this child did not get vaccinated for the flu and had underlying health conditions.

The latest stats show Miami-Dade and Broward counties currently having mild flu activity during the first part of this season.

Children, especially those with underlying health conditions, are at high risk for severe complications from influenza infection – along with adults over the age of 65.
