Agents: Relationship With Marlins And Yelich Is "Irretrievably Broken"

The Marlins roster could soon be getting even thinner.

Christian Yelich's agent told ESPN Tuesday that the 26-year-old center fielder is asking to be traded because his relationship with the team is "irretrievably broken."

"They have a plan," agent Joe Longo said. "I respect that plan, but that plan shouldn't include Christian at this point in his career. He's in the middle of the best years of his career, and having him be part of a 100-loss season is not really where [we] want to see him going.

His agents also say that Yelich loves the city of Miami, loves the fans, and has had nothing but a good experience in South Florida, but that he "feels sorry where they ended up."

Since Derek Jeter became a co-owner of the team, Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna and Dee Gordon have all been shipped to other teams.
