The Trump administration is seeking a permanent solution when it comes to Dreamers. That's according to Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
In a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Nielsen said that piecemeal, temporary solutions won't work.
Dreamers are young immigrants who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children.
President Trump announced plans to cancel DACA, the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, last year.
That puts the future of nearly 700,000 Dreamers in doubt.
