FL Judge Suspended Without Pay For Falsifying Endorsement

An Orlando judge will have to serve a 90-day suspension without pay for using a 20-year-old newspaper endorsement.

The Florida Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected Judge Kim Shepard's appeal.

In 1994, the Orlando Sentinel endorsed her for reelection to the Florida  House. She used the same endorsement in 2014 when she was running for Osceola County judge.

The newspaper had endorsed candidate Norberto Katz in the 2014 race.

Shepard tried to argue the suspension violated her right to free speech.

Shepard is now a judge in Orange County.
