Several local businesses and government offices will remain closed Monday in observance of the Docrot Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
- All federal, state, county and municipal offices will be closed in observance of the holiday
- All public schools and colleges will be closed Monday
- Most banks will be closed
- Post offices will also be closed, meaning no mail will be distributed
- Libraries in both Broward and Miami-Dade counties will also be closed
- Public parks in both counties will remain open
- Trash pickup will continue as scheduled in Broward, but not in Miami-Dade
- Transportation systems operating on a normal schedule (in both counties) include:
- Tri-Rail
- Metrorail
- Metromover
- Metrobus
- Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Center will be closed
- The county landfill in Fort Lauderdale will be closed
- Most grocery stores and malls will be open, it's best to call your location directly to ensure business hours
