Trump Vs. Bannon: Fiery Comments Followed By Compliments?

President Trump said Thursday that Steve Bannon changed his tune pretty quick following publications of book excerpts in which Bannon is quoted making dismissive remarks about the president and his campaign team.

Trump first released a fiery statement Wednesday in response to the excerpts from "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House."

The president more or less slammed Bannon, his former chief strategist, stating he had lost his mind when he was ousted from the Trump Administration.

But during a radio appearance Wednesday evening, Bannon offered kinder words than what's quoted in the book. He told a caller that “the president of the United States is a great man. You know I support him day in and day out.”

Trump responded to the softer approach Thursday during a press briefing at the White House, saying “I don’t know. He called me a great man last night. So, you know, he obviously changed his tune pretty quick.”

In another radio hit Thursday morning, Bannon said that “nothing will ever come between us and President Trump and his agenda.”

But is that the truth?

At Wednesday’s White House press briefing, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump had not spoken to Bannon in over a month.

Trump also told reporters “I don’t talk to him. That’s just a misnomer.”
