Customs officials are working to learn what caused a massive computer system outage. The breakdown caused huge lines at airports across the country last night, including at Miami International Airport.
Customs and Border Protection says there is no indication that the disruption was malicious in nature.
During the outage, CBP had access to national security databases and continued to screen travelers.
Thousands of travelers were stuck in long lines and waits while the issue was being resolved.
