Reward For Finding Miami-Dade 2-Year-Old's Shooting Killer Raises To $37K

The reward for information leading to an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Miami-Dade toddler has increased to $37,000.

The fatal shooting of 2-year-old Carnell Williams-Thomas occurred at 214 Street and SW 114 Court on Dec. 15.

When police arrived at the scene, around 6:19 p.m., they found the child shot. Carnell was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center but was declared dead.

Carnell’s mom, Dorothy, said she had been trying to move from her Southwest Miami-Dade area for about a year after Carnell’s older sister, Lashelle, was shot. Lashelle survived the shooting, but that shooter has not been found.

The reward for information increases as protesters on Friday called for an end to gun violence. Deaths in recent weeks, including those of teenagers, have generated outcry over fatal shootings.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 or homicide detective M. Parmenter at 305-471-2400.
