South Florida firefighter are out and about, keeping their eyes peeled for illegal fireworks.
Fire Prevention Unit members are inspecting retailers and tents Friday to make sure the vendors are certified and only selling legal fireworks.
In Florida, technically only sparklers and fireworks used for agriculture or industrial purposes are legal.
Fireworks and sparklers can reach up to 1,800 degrees and, if not used correctly, it can cause serious injuries and burns.
Parents can eliminate the risk of burns is by giving their child glow sticks instead of sparklers or fireworks.
