Pines Police Warn Residents Of Recent Carjackings

The Pembroke Pines Police Department is urging residents to remain alert after a number of armed carjackings last week in the Windmill Lakes community.

The carjackings occurred on Wednesday and Thursday.

On Wednesday evening, two armed suspects approached a woman sitting in her car at around 9 p.m. They ordered her out of the vehicle and they left in her 2017 gray Toyota Corolla. She was not injured and shots were not fired.

Both suspects in that carjacking are described as black males in their early 20s who are about five feet seven inches tall and weigh about 170 pounds.

On Thursday, a similar incident occurred. A victim was sitting inside her parked vehicle when an armed suspect entered her car through the passenger door. Another suspect then approached the driver's side and told the victim to get out of the vehicle.

Once she left, a third suspect entered her vehicle. The three suspects were described as black males. No other descriptive information was available.

The PPPD is asking anyone with information to contact them at 954-431-2200 or anonymous tips can be directed to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
