Watch: Three Arrested After Botched Shoplifting Scheme At Davie Best Buy

An alert security officer is credited with preventing an unusual robbery.

Davie Police say the guard at the Best Buy on University Drive stopped two women stuffing a baby stroller FULL of stolen items.  No, they didn't have a baby; but they definitely did have a shopping list.

“They we stealing tablets, electronics, I was told one individual had a handwritten shopping list in her pocket,” said Davie Police Sgt. Mark Leone.

A loss prevention officer sensed something was off and tried to stop the women as they attempted to exit the store. One of the women was able to get away from the guard and into a waiting car... but then she crashed that into some parked cars inside the shopping center.

As they were departing, the male driver was tazed by Davie Police, and one of the female crooks jumped out.

Eventually, the driver got on to University and sped into a nearby neighborhood where he crashed the vehicle into a wall.

Two Lauderdale Lakes women and a Lauderhill man in the getaway car were arrested.

Facing shoplifting charges are Donald J. Carter, Marcelous J. Thomas, and Sheronnye Pendergrass.

All were taken to the Broward County Jail Facility in Pompano Beach.
