Authorities: FL Man Crashes Into School Bus While Reaching For Cell Phone

Authorities say a Florida driver who dropped his cellphone and reached down to get it crashed into a school bus.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report,  55-year-old Leroy Kenneth Rogers Jr. was traveling northbound on a road just after 5 a.m. Monday when his car drifted across the center of the roadway, striking a Lee County school bus.

Rogers said he had dropped his cellphone and reached down to get it. 

He was cited for driving on the wrong side of the road, not wearing a seat belt and not having insurance. 

Thankfully, no students were on the bus at the time of the crash.
