International superstar Lady Gaga and her foundation are teaming up with local superstars of the Miami Heat and Miami-Dade County Public Schools for an important discussion on mental health.
Officials with Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation will join Miami-Dade County Public Schools authorities in speaking to an audience of South Florida high school students this Wednesday as part of the Channel Kindness Tour.
Twenty percent of youth ages 13-18 are living day-to-day with mental health issues and 64 percent of youth lack treatment for depression. The mission of the Channel Kindness Tour is to encourage people to be kind, be brave, and give back.
During the event, beginning 10 a.m. Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd. in Miami), students will have an opportunity to visit mental health information booths and to get first-hand information.
