Florida is the seventh best state in the nation in which to do business, according to a new report by Forbes magazine.
Forbes determined their rankings across six broad categories:
- Business costs
- Labor supply
- Regulatory environment
- Economic climate
- Growth prospects
- Quality of life
Florida came in first in growth prospects and fifth for regulatory environment, but just 19th in quality of life and 39th in business costs. According to the study, "[Florida's] projected job, population, and income growth are all expected to be second best in the country over the next five years."
Last year, the Sunshine State took over spot 12.
Forbes says the worst state in the country for business is West Virginia.
North Carolina clocked in at number one. NC is the only state to rank among the top 20 states in all six categories.
