Florida Teen Arrested In Connection To Grandmother's Murder

A 15-year-old Florida boy wanted for questioning in the death of his 53-year-old grandmother is in custody of the U.S. Border patrol after trying to drive into Canada, officials say.

Jacksonville Police had been looking for the boy, Logan Mott and his grandmother's car since Wednesday.

Kristina French’s body was found Friday in a shallow grave in the backyard of her grandson’s home in Neptune Beach.

French was caring for Logan while his father, a Jacksonville jail guard, was on vacation with his girlfriend.

Eric Mott returned to Jacksonville Wednesday to a ransacked home and the theft of his guns, the Florida Times-Union reported.

French’s home had also been ransacked and weapons that she owned had been stolen, the paper reported.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office then issued an alert for French, the boy and her car.
