Playing Strengths At Work = Improving Your Health?

We're always looking for new ways to take our existing health and improve it. Often, we evaluate what we eat, how much we exercise, sleep, etc.

There's somewhere else we could and apparently should be looking. Gallup's latest "State of the Workplace" study turned up some pretty compelling info...

You're likely familiar with the saying "right people in the right places" but it's evident that it's probably more important than we realized. Gallup found that only 40 percent of us feel that we're positioned to do what we're best at in our careers.

Of those 40 percent, Gallup found that they are among the most engaged (no surprise), most productive (ditto) but also healthier. It also begins to make sense. If you're positioned for success, you're less likely to feel as stressed, depressed, etc. That also is likely to carry over to your eating habits. That's also likely to contribute to more physical activity. And all of this results in greater productivity as well.

The 40 percent of employees who fall into this category produce 14 percent more profitability for their companies and are 46 percent less likely to have safety concerns at work.

That's all a pretty compelling reason to attempt to ensure you have the right people in the right places - especially you!
