A Coral Gables store is attempting to recover after hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of jewelry was stolen Monday.
The thief entered Riviera Jewelers, located at 369 Miracle Mile, around 10 a.m.
Store owner Estelle Maury recognized the thief as a customer who came to the store a week earlier looking to buy a ring for his wife, according to a report by WSVN News.
Maury’s husband believed he was helping the man complete the purchase when the thief pulled a gun on him.
One of the stolen rings alone cost $500,000, the owners say.
Police are currently investigating the situation.
