Shark Tank Contestant Gets Deal For Product Invented In His Sunrise Garage

It took almost 20 years, but a former Sunrise resident is a step closer to living his dream.

On Sunday night's episode of ABC's 'Shark Tank,' 31-year-old Joshua Esnard accepted a partnership to market his invention, The Cut Buddy.

The Cut Buddy is a hand-held tool Esnard invented when he was 12 that guides the user into making straighter beard and hair lines.

FUBU clothing founder Daymond John offered Esnard $300,000 dollars in exchange for a 20 percent stake in the company. Esnard accepted the offer from the man he calls his idol.

The Cut Buddy sells for $14.95 and has seen $700,000 in sales since the company started in 2016, Esnard told the potential investors.

He said he found success after his product went viral on YouTube when a video of the product received 11 million views.

The Cut Buddy was invented in Esnard's Sunrise garage. He now lives in North Carolina.
