Police: Homeless Man Posed As Parking Attendant In Downtown Miami

A homeless South Florida man is facing charges after allegedly posing as a parking attendant in downtown Miami.

Authorities say 43-year-old Michael Phillips was directing traffic into a parking lot along Biscayne Boulevard near Northeast Fourth Street.

A woman told police that Phillips charged her $20 for parking and handed her a receipt ticket, though he didn't have a license to conduct business in the parking lot.

Police said the arresting officer recognized Phillips as the same man who had been arrested the day before for having phony parking admission tickets.

Phillips now faces charges of conducting business without a license and subsequent violation of fraudulently creating or possessing admission tickets.

At last check, Phillips was being held in lieu of a $1,001 bond.
