There's A Pup Missing Out Of Miami Beach, And This Vet Wants To Find Him

After Hurricane Irma destroyed war veteran Doc Nunez's Miami Beach apartment, his service dog disappeared.

Bandit, a 2-year-old Jack Russell terrier, disappeared from the building near the intersection of Byron Avenue and 73rd Street as repairs were being done. Nunez fears that someone stole his beloved companion.

During repairs, Nunez was forced to find a new place to live.

While moving furniture out last week, he left Bandit in the second-floor apartment. When he came back, the dog was gone.

Nunez is a disabled war veteran and recipient of multiple Purple Hearts.

Those who know Nunez would always see him with Bandit, even while horseback riding or parachuting.

"He helped me a lot with my anxiety," Nunez said.

Nunez has been hanging up fliers, passing them out to anyone he sees. The flyer is also circulating all over social media and Nunez said he is doing everything he can to get his best friend back.

Anyone with information about Bandit's whereabouts is asked to call the Miami Beach Police Department at 786-398-0755.
