An FIU student is being blamed for a threat made against an on-campus Jewish event Thursday evening.
Miami-Dade Police said the 21-year-old threatened to raise havoc at an event at the Jewish Museum of FIU.
While the student was being interviewed, a bomb-sniffing dog got a hit on his car in a campus parking garage, which led to the garage being evacuated.
The garage was evacuated and an emergency alert was sent out to avoid the area.
MDPD Bomb Squad detectives responded and gave an all-clear. Simultaneously, Miami Beach Police Department responded to the Jewish Museum of FIU and, after a search, deemed that location safe as well.
No bomb was found, but the Jewish event was canceled as a precaution.
