Police: Man Went To Orlando Airport Planning To Shoot His Wife

A man carrying a gun was arrested at Orlando International Airport Tuesday. Police say he was planning on shooting his wife.

Police officers in Atlanta tipped Orlando cops that 49-year-old William Schultz was possibly planning the attack. Schultz was sending threatening messages to his wife via text message earlier in the day, according to police.

An officer at Orlando International Airport  recognized Schultz from a picture he had seen earlier in the day.

Officers say a 9mm handgun was found in his waistband. Schultz has a Florida concealed weapons permit, but guns are prohibited at the airport, authorities said. The officer said he also found a green leafy substance that tested positive for THC in Schultz's pocket.

He was arrested on charges of aggravated stalking with a firearm, carrying a firearm in a place prohibited by law and possession of cannabis.
