With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we are starting to stock up on Tupperware for all of the leftover goodness. After all, there's nothing better than a day-after-Thanksgiving sandwich!
But will you really eat those leftovers?
According to a new study by the Natural Resources Defense Council, Americans are a staggeringly wasteful bunch.
Numbers suggest that all but about 35 percent of the food Americans throw out is perfectly edible, or at least it was before it turned to mush in the Tupperware.
More than a third of the wasted food is leftovers.
The rest is raw food that sat unused until it spoiled.
The Natural Resources Defense Council hopes to use the findings to persuade Americans to eat their leftovers.
