Off-Duty Officer Shoots Would-Be Robber At Miami-Dade CVS

An off-duty police officer allegedly shot an armed robber at a CVS pharmacy in southwest Miami-Dade on Tuesday night.

According to Miami-Dade police officials, the gunman entered the CVS on Quail Roost Drive about 7:30 p.m. and attempted to rob the store.

A customer at the CVS then pulled out a gun and shot the man, who then left the area, according to police. A short time later, a man arrived at Jackson Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound.

Sources say the customer was a former Miami police officer who currently works for another law enforcement agency.

A security guard said he heard three or four shots, according to a report by Local 10 News.

Police are investigating whether the wounded man at the hospital is the same man involved in the CVS shooting.
