Obamacare Open Enrollment Begins, Wasserman Schultz Urges People To Apply

As Open Enrollment for Obamacare kicks off for 2018, South Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schults is defending the Health Care law. She is urging those who need coverage to enroll.

“There has been an incredible amount of misinformation and disinformation spread about the affordable care act,” said Wasserman Schultz. “Subsidized health care policies [and] affordable choices are still available, completely just like they were before.”

She's supported the law since it went into effect in 2010.

Nearly 10 million people currently have private plans through the Affordable Care Act’s government-sponsored markets. More than 8 in 10 receive subsidized premiums and are cushioned from rate increases.

Federal help paying premiums is still available despite GOP efforts to repeal the health law.

The enrollment period runs from Nov. 1st, through Dec. 15th. At six weeks, its half as long as last year, and advertising for the the open enrollment period was cut this year by 90 percent.
