Hollywood Nursing Home: STOP Gov. Scott!

Two groups representing nursing homes and assisted living facilities want an appeals court to block the actions of the Gov. Rick Scott Administration.

LeadingAge Florida and Florida Argentum filed a motion Tuesday with the 1st District Court of Appeal.

The groups allege that the Scott administration is keeping new generator rules in place even though a judge ruled against them last week.

The Governor's agencies are causing confusion among nursing homes, according to nursing home officials.

The governor sought the generator rules after residents at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills died following a power outage caused by Hurricane Irma.

A total of 14 people who lived inside the home at the time of the outage have died.

Scott wants nursing homes and assisted living facilities to have generators capable of providing backup power for four days.
