Hard Rock Breaks Ground On New, Massive Guitar-Shaped Hotel

The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood is breaking ground on a 35-story guitar-shaped hotel that's set to open in 2019.

The $1.5 billion project was officially announced Wednesday.

The new hotel will include 806  guestrooms and suites, with 638 in the guitar hotel tower, bringing the total number of rooms to more than 1,300.

The expansion will also include 60,000 square feet of new retail and restaurant space and a $100 million redesigned and completely rebuilt Hard Rock Live venue with 7,000 seats.

Other amenities include lounges, a business center and a 41,000-square foot spa.

As part of the expansion, the casino will also nearly double in size.
