Miami Man Busted For Planning To Bomb The Dolphin Mall

A Florida man is accused of plotting to blow up a popular South Florida mall.

Fifty-three-year-old Vicente Solano was reportedly targeting the Dolphin Mall. He was taken into custody Friday following an FBI counter-terrorism undercover operation.

He allegedly thought he was speaking to a radical when he told an FBI informant of his alleged plans to bomb the shopping center.

Solano had acquired what he thought was a real bomb, but the undercover agents he had been speaking to had actually given him a fake device.

It is not clear when he had planned to allegedly detonate the device.

Dolphin Mall reps confirm there is an ongoing FBI investigation but they haven't further commented on this case.

Authorities said Solano was acting alone.

Solano is due to face Miami federal court on Monday where authorities will file a criminal complaint and affidavit.
