Florida Sees Growing Epidemic Of Babies Born Addicted To Drugs, Study Says

There is a growing epidemic throughout the state of Florida of babies being born addicted to drugs.  

The number of babies born addicted last year was almost double from the year before, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control. \

In 2016, some 4,215 Florida babies were born addicted to drugs.

Hillsborough County had the largest amount of babies impacted in 2016, with 536 addicted babies born. 

Broward County had 184, Palm Beach County had 160 and Monroe County had 6.

Treatment for one baby born addicted can cost around $250,000.
