Investigation Leads To Arrest Of 13 In Fort Lauderdale Prostitution Ring

More than a dozen people in Fort Lauderdale have been arrested after offering sexual favors for as little as $5 and up to $50.

According to court records, the prostitution sting took place Oct. 11 and ended in the arrests of eight men and five women on misdemeanor solicitation charges.

The investigation into the prostitution ring focused on the Sistrunk corridor, the Andrews Avenue corridor, Flagler Village, Victoria Park and Holiday Park, according to officers with the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. 

Five of the 13 pleaded no contest and were sentenced three days each in jail with credit for two days time served, records show. The rest bonded out of jail.
