A North Florida woman is facing charges after she officers say she killed a 9-year-old girl... by sitting on her.
The Pensacola News Journal reports that 64-year-old Veronica Green Posey was arrested Saturday and charged with homicide and cruelty toward a child.
Authorities responded to the family's Pensacola home around 1:35 p.m. following a 911 call.
The reportedly 325-pound Posey told deputies she was sitting on Dericka Lindsay because the girl was out of control. According to police, Dericka told Posey and two other adults that she couldn't breathe during the punishment.
When Posey got up... the girl wasn't breathing.
The two other adults face neglect charges.
Posey was released from jail Monday on $125,000 bail.
The Florida Department of Children and Families confirmed that the family had a previous interaction with the agency.
