Ollie the Pit Bull was found stuffed inside a suitcase behind an abandoned building in Hollywood early Tuesday.
Police said the dog's paw was sticking out of the suitcase when officers found Ollie behind 1945 Lee St.
The dog to a veterinary clinic, where it was determined the creature had been beaten and stabbed multiple time.
The 1-year-old pit bull died around 8:30 Thursday night at the VCA Hollywood Animal Hospital.
A GoFundMe account had been set up to help pay for Ollie's medical bills, raising more than $40,000 so far.
PETA said it's offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads "to the arrest and conviction on cruelty-to-animals charges of the person or persons responsible for this heinous crime."
