Boca Babysitter Faces DUI Charges After Crashing With Baby In Backseat

A Palm Beach nanny is looking at DUI charges after she crashed a car with a child inside.

Boca Raton police detectives say 27-year-old Elyse Tilley was changing lanes Tuesday at North Dixie Highway and Palmetto Park Road when her car ran into an SUV.

They claim the young boy wasn't properly secured in his car seat.

He suffered some minor bumps to his head and was transported to the hospital.

Police said Tilley "was twitching, crying, scratching and appeared to be anxious." She was arrested after failing a roadside sobriety test.

During a search of the car, police found several prescription pill bottles on the front passenger seat.

Tilley faces charges of DUI causing property damage, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and child neglect.

Tilley was released from jail the next day on a $12,000 bond.
