Early Traffic Plagues Miami-Dade/Broward: Here's What You Need To Know

Multiple crashes have plagued the Turnpike Extension this Tuesday, throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

With much of the traffic being brought to a standstill, commuters are being advised to seek alternate routes.

The troubles started early Tuesday when a rollover crash of a dump truck near the southbound intersection with I-75 caused officials to close the Turnpike at NW 57th Avenue, causing delays back to NW 27th Avenue.

Several drivers attempted to get off the road by crossing over into the northbound lanes, causing even more crashes and multiple lane closures in both directions for a period of time.

As of 8 a.m., officials are recommending drivers take the Palmetto Expressway or Miramar Parkway as alternatives. State Route-826 is also an alternate route.
