A Delray Beach woman was arrested Tuesday, after being accused of putting shards of glass in her food to get free meals at restaurants.
Kaitlyn Murphy, 31, now faces a charge of scheme to defraud.
Police said Murphy visited 10 restaurants in Stuart from Sept. 15 to Sept. 26 and complained of finding glass in her food after eating most of her meals.
According to an arrest affidavit, Murphy confessed to police that she carried the glass in her purse and intentionally put the shards in her meals, purposely cutting her mouth.
Many of the restaurants wound up paying for the meals or offering gift cards and free food to make up for the incidents.
