Cruise Ship Brings Thousands Of Hurricane Evacuees To South Florida

Nearly 4,000 Caribbean evacuees arrived at Port Everglades Tuesday morning, thanks to Royal Caribbean cruise line.

The Adventure of the Seas ship docked in South Florida after picking up 1,700 residents from Puerto Rico, and others from Saint Thomas, in response to the destruction created by Hurricane Maria.

The ship had made it a mission to pick up those living in terrible conditions and seeking shelter for themselves and loved ones.

Royal Caribbean said they canceled a regularly scheduled cruise in order to offer relief for those in-need.

FEMA officials were present as the ship docked in Port Everglades, awaiting those onboard to step off the cruise.
