Rubio Visits Hurricane-Ravaged Puerto Rico, Calls For Help

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says the challenges following Hurricane Maria are extraordinary in Puerto Rico.

A day after touring the U.S. territory ravaged by the hurricane, Republican Marco Rubio met with Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday in a direct appeal for help.

Rubio said Puerto Rico requires a much more aggressive federal reaction than usual and he says U.S. efforts are being ramped up.

But he adds that, every day that goes by in some areas without electricity or communication, the situation grows graver.
