Hurricane Irma Makes Landfall In Lower Florida Keys

Hurricane Irma has made landfall in the Florida Keys. 

Irma hit Cudjoe Key in the lower Florida Keys just after 9 a.m. Sunday. The storm was carrying Category 4, top sustained winds of 130 mph. 

The storm is now expected to makes its way northwest, up Florida's coast, clipping Naples and Fort Myers before heading toward Tampa Bay.

Hurricane Irma is the first storm to directly hit the state in 12 years.
