Hurricane Irma Could Become A Cat-4 Storm

Hurricane Irma is holding steady in the eastern Atlantic with top winds of 115 miles an hour, making it a Category 3 hurricane.  

As of 5 a.m. Eastern time, the National Hurricane Center located Irma less than 17-hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands.  It's moving west-northwest at 12 miles an hour.

Irma is expected to remain a powerful hurricane through the weekend.
