The water in the City of Pompano Beach may taste different starting Monday.
That's because the city is conducting a chlorination treatment. During the disinfection portion of the process, residents may notice a slight change in the taste and smell of the water.
They say it's a common maintenance practice that will take nearly a month to complete.
The water is still safe to drink. However, people undergoing dialysis or anyone with a compromised immune system should consult a health professional.
Owners of pet stores and fish stores, bait shops, restaurants and grocery stores with lobster tanks should adjust chlorine treatment or contact a pet professional for advice.
